All Xbox One models and bundles are $50 off until April 300 Comments
April is showering down great gaming deals. If you’ve been wanting to purchase an Xbox One, this month is a great time to do so. Microsoft’s flagship console received a $50 price cut, and it will be in effect until April 30. The Spring Sale’s price of $299 is $50 cheaper than the PlayStation 4’s starting price, so if you don’t have a current-gen console, the option is available. What’s even better is that the temporary price cut applies to all Xbox One models and bundles, so go nuts.
Lately, Microsoft has been heavily advertising this deal since its inception on March 20. Economists in the entertainment sector are curious as to how the price cut will impact the Xbox One’s system sales when the NPD Group’s reports for March and April arrive during April and May, respectively. No one currently knows why they’re offering the sale, but it could be because its biggest competitor, Sony, has been white-hot with PlayStation 4 sales recently.
Currently, the PlayStation 4 is the worldwide sales leader, with nearly 36 million systems sold as of January 2016. No matter how you look at it, that’s a lot of consoles. Personally, I think the Xbox One could sell more if they offered more exclusive titles, which Sony has been running away with lately. Sure, it’s a necessary evil, but if Microsoft wants to close the gap on their rival, it may be the only option left.
