American and Euro Truck Simulator get Steam Workshop support0 Comments
This is a great week for all the digital truckers out there. SCS Software have finally unleashed Steam Workshop support for both American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 via update 1.2 and 1.23 respectively. Mods have always been available for use with the game, but had to be procured on various fan sites in multiple languages. It wasn't the most efficient way to search out and download mods to install to your game.
That's part of what makes the Steam Workshop support such a welcome addition. Now, all you need to do is browse the Workshop for either American Truck Simulator or Euro Truck Simulator 2 to see some of the most popular mods and select what you'd like to add to your game. From there it basically works the same as on any other Steam Workshop. You can access this storefront from within American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2 by clicking "Mod Manager" to open up an in-game browser.
At this point, just select a mod that looks promising and click the "Subscribe" button. This is what adds the mod to the mod library. Finally, select items from the library to set them as active mods (or turn off previous active mods). Once this management is taken care of you're free to begin trucking! Those who want to remove a mod from their library can simply go back to the Steam Workshop and click "unsubscribe." The process might sound a little annoying but it's far more convenient than what fans were doing in the past. Of course, you can still import mods in the old way, too.
