Atlus will publish The King of Fighters XIV in the West0 Comments
The next King of Fighters tournament has found its ticket to the western part of the world, as Atlus has announced it will publish the game for North America and Europe.
Atlus announced the publishing deal struck with KOF XIV developer SNK Playmore on Tuesday, along with a laundry list of the upcoming brawler's main features and an intro trailer for two new characters: the mysterious hooded Kukri and the fiery Muimui. Atlus will be publishing the game only on PlayStation 4, so Sony supporters will be the only ones to enter the latest King of Fighters tourney.
The game boasts 50 characters — 31 returning and 19 brand new fighters — all available at launch, as well as am improved online experience from recent KOF fighters and a visual jump to full 3D rendering with a departure from hand-drawn sprites. No release date accompanied this amount other than "2016," so we don't yet know when this throwdown will begin.
It's awfully nice of Atlus to help us fighting fans out and bring King of Fighters XIV over the ocean. SNK Playmore seems to really be trying to revolutionize its prize fighter, and the more hands that play it the more feedback they'll get for later patches and updates. I loved me some KoF back in the day and I enjoyed the newer games, so XIV has found a definite place on my watchlist.
