Bandai Namco trademarks Amazing Katamari Damacy for EU0 Comments
The Katamari Damacy franchise hasn’t stopped rolling yet. Bandai Namco just registered a trademark for “Amazing Katamari Damacy” for the European Union. If you’re a fan of the quirky Japanese title, this would be the time to start rolling for joy. Thanks to the eagle eyes of NeoGAF user ekim, news of this came to light; however, as usual with trademarks, it’s currently unknown as to what it’s for. Considering that the recent sequels haven’t carried the “Damacy” name in its titles, it could be a re-release or remaster of the original PlayStation 2 title from 2004. Personally, I’m hoping it will be a brand new PlayStation 4/PS Vita entry.
For the uninitiated, Katamari Damacy involves rolling an extremely sticky ball around disparate environments, and the goal was to roll up literally everything in your path while solving puzzles, and growing your ball to a ridiculously enormous size. We’re talking cows, stadiums, people, cruise ships, Ferris wheels, and even skyscrapers; nothing is safe from the little green prince. It’s also famous for its peculiar setting and delivery, as the game never takes itself seriously. Personally, if you haven’t tried it yet, I highly recommend you do so for some good laughs.
