Bungie cancels upcoming Trials of Osiris after discovery of unlimited rocket glitch0 Comments
Bungie was all set to kick of their Trials of Osiris event in Destiny this weekend, but those plans have been canceled under rather unusual circumstances. As it turns out, Destiny players have recently discovered a glitch that essentially allows certain users to gain infinite amounts of heavy ammunition, which almost certainly would have been disruptive to the planned festivities.
Without going into specifics, the glitch involves using the Cocoon perk along with the Clown Cartidge upgrade, which can ultimately result in ever-increasing magazines for the game's rocket launcher. It's definitely a game-changing glitch, especially considering that it even works in the Crucible. Taking to the game's official blog, Bungie community manager David Dague announced that Trials of Osiris would be canceled, citing the immediate need to fix the problem.
"When we learned that some Guardians had discovered a way to earn unlimited rockets, we knew it was time for a bug hunt," Dague said. "These things happen, so please don’t panic. We’re on the case — and we’ve slayed more dreaded bugs than these. In the meantime, Trials of Osiris is cancelled for this weekend."
Dague also stated that Bungie will be lenient with those who have so far exploited the glitch — instead of simply banning players, they'll "impose restrictions on players who compromise the overall experience" of the game. He also noted that the game's automated security measures have been "beefed up" in the meantime. Bungie has promised that the Trials of Osiris will return, but they haven't given any specific date as of yet.
