Dead or Alive 5: Last Round Core Fighters hits six million downloads worldwide0 Comments
If there’s one thing Team NINJA and Koei Tecmo understand more than anything else, it’s their fan base, and this couldn’t be truer for the Dead or Alive series. Their latest entry in the franchise, Dead or Alive 5: Last Round Core Fighters (free-to-play version of DoA 5: Last Round) reached six million downloads worldwide across the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PlayStation 3. No matter how you slice it, that’s proof of a massive fan base, especially after they hit five million downloads in January. To commemorate the occasion, Koei Tecmo will unlock 26 of the game’s 35 characters for free from April 6 to April 11 at 12:00 JST. Its downloadable content will also be getting a price drop during the promotion.
Unfortunately, only players in Japan are able to bask in the celebratory offer at this time of writing. Hopefully, fans in the U.S. and Europe will be able to enjoy the promotion, too. In any case, it’s great to see Team NINJA and Koei Tecmo doing great for their fighting game franchise, and even better for them to let the players celebrate as well. The fact that one million extra customers downloaded Dead or Alive 5: Last Round Core Fighters in just four months is amazing in its own right.
