Fallout 4's Codsworth gets over 300 new names to speak0 Comments
The gaming world was pleasantly surprised when it was revealed that Fallout 4's robotic follower Codworth could speak the player's name — assuming they hadn't been named something too unusual. After some probing, fans were able to discover the list of all the names Codsworth could speak, which among more common names also included titles like Ferret or Morpheus. Now, as of the latest update to the Xbox One and PC versions of the game, developer Bethesda has included over 300 new names to Codsworth's ever-growing lingual repertoire.
Unsurprisingly, the new list contains dozens of common names like Brendan or Keith or Rachel, and adds a number of less-common monickers such as Scorpion, Korozona, and Wigglesworth. Also among the list are a number of astrology-based names like Taurus, Ares, and Libre, as well as several names taken from George R. R. Martin's popular A Song of Ice and Fire books.
Bethesda themselves haven't released any official list of all of the new names, but that hasn't stopped internet users from discovering them: this list hosted on Imgur popped up not long ago on a Reddit thread posted by user Sable17.
It may be worth mentioning that this author prefers to use addresses or titles in video games that don't rely on being proper nouns, and my nickname of choice — Chief — remains absent from the still-expanding list. Luckily for me, Wanderer works well in the meantime.
