Final Fantasy VII will be a series of full-length games
0 CommentsSquare Enix stirred some confusion when it revealed that the Final Fantasy VII Remake would be told across multiple parts, but has now assuaged our initial fears in a conversation with Game Informer. The new Final Fantasy VII will be a collection of full-length games, rather than an episodic format. Square Enix is modelling the remake after Final Fantasy XIII's three part series.
The remake's producer, Yoshinori Kitase, said, "It will essentially be a full scale game for each part of the multi-part series. In XIII, each installment told the story from a different angle. It was kind of like approaching an unknown territory in a sense."
Final Fantasy VII Remake is in a different position than Final Fantasy XIII in that it already has an existing story that will likely form just one of part of the series. Kitase also holds that the team, who also were involved in creating the original Final Fantasy VII, aren't afraid to change parts of the story. "That isn't to say we're changing everything," he added.
