Flappy Bird makes its electronic cigarette debut
0 CommentsThere's a strange drive that some gamers have to be able to play games in unusual circumstances. It's often the motivation that compels game players to mod their equipment in order to do things like play SNES games on a PSP, or install Doom on a Texas Instruments TI-84 calculator — one enterprising player even went as far as to begin coding the entirety of Pokemon Red within Minecraft. As surprising as those projects are, they don't quite have the same shock value as the recent efforts from YouTube user Balázs Bank, who has managed to get Flappy Bird up and running on his electronic cigarette.
This news is surprising for a number of reasons, the bulk of which likely center around how such a development is even possible. The explanation is simple enough, though — the electronic cigarette in question, the eVic-VTC Mini, features both an OLED screen and a circuit board that allows for basic programming. Granted, the manufacturers likely didn't imagine their circuitry being used to run video games, but so long as it's only being used in places and manners consistent with the law, it's hard to imagine e-cig-based gaming causing anyone harm.
