GameStop and Best Buy will host PlayStation VR demos starting tomorrow0 Comments
About two months ago, Sony revealed that they would soon begin rolling out PlayStation VR headsets as demo units to select GameStop locations across the United States. Well, after a long wait, that time has come. Starting tomorrow, select GameStop and Best Buy stores across the nation will have their very own kiosk where customers can step up and see what PlayStation VR has to offer.
For now, the demos are limited to around 30 stores sensibly placed in highly-populated areas. However, Sony intends to expand their reach to around 300 locations in the US and Canada. The list of locations that will have a demo live tomorrow can be found over at the PlayStation.Blog, and the list over at Experience PlayStation VR website will be periodically updated with the location of new kiosks as they sprout up.
VR is a very unique technology, and despite seeing exciting videos and hearing announcements of VR games, not many consumers know exactly what to expect — nor how their body might react. These PSVR kiosks aren't just a good idea for expanding the Sony brand, then — they'll also serve as a good primer for what gamers can expect with the emerging technology.
