Gears of War 4 grinds into action on October 110 Comments
Epic Games have announced a release date for Gears of War 4, the next iteration of the core saga of the Gears series. The new game marks a huge change for the series, with the introduction of a new group of heroes that have risen up to take on an emerging threat to humanity, centered around JD Fenix, the son of Gears legend Marcus.
JD will joined by his childhood friend Delmont Walker, and a mysterious woman named Kait Diaz who has survived outside of the walled cities that most people call home. After JD and Delmont become involved in a classified COG incident, the pair make the decision to go AWOL to escape what they have seen.
Epic have said that they are going back to their gritty roots with the newest Gears game, in an attempt to bring fans back into the fold that may have been turned off by Judgment. "Hearkening back to the dark and intense roots of the original classic, fans can expect a familiar, yet distinct evolution of gameplay, including brutal and intimate action, a heart-pounding campaign, genre-defining multiplayer and stunning visuals."
There will be a Gears of War 4 beta later this month on Xbox One, which will begin on April 18 for anyone who plays the Gear of War: Ultimate Edition between April 4 and April 11. The beta will then open up to Xbox Live Gold members on April 25, and will continue for the remainder of the week.
