Guile unveiled as April addition to Street Fighter V0 Comments
Capcom has unveiled the April downloadable update for Street Fighter V, including the return of the franchise's original American hero, Guile.
Guile joins the roster later this month at no cost until the online shop goes live, bringing with him his own set of Trials and Character Story chapters. Also coming via DLC is the Air Force Base stage from Street Fighter II remastered for the new Street Fighter game.
The April update also brings a update to the online anti-rage quit system, identifying players with high disconnect rates and banning them from open online play for a set period of time. Matchmaking will also be improved according to the patch notes, "loosening restrictions" on how to find online opponents while making it easier to connect to Battle Lounges.
I have a love/hate feeling for this update. I love Guile's return because the more original Street Fighter characters a game has, the better it is, and we're now three-quarters of the way there (looking at you Blanka and E. Honda). I hate the way the rage quit enhancement sounds, as the vague language Capcom uses tells me the patch may not be able to tell the difference between rage-quitting and crappy internet disconnects. I'd hate to see a player get punished because he or she lives in an area with spotty internet service, and I hope the "future updates" to the system account for those folks.
