Hoops mode shoots its way to Rocket League on April 260 Comments
Basketball season is in full bloom, and Rocket League developer Psyonix is catching on. On April 26, the game will be receiving its “Hoops” as free DLC for all platforms. If you didn’t get the chance to experience Hoops mode, next week will be the best time to do so, because it’s absolutely awesome. Additionally, the NBA has their hands in the new mode too, and fans can purchase a “flag pack” for all team logos for $1.99. If that wasn’t enough, a new arena will arrive too, christened as the “Dunk House.”
One thing is clear, if players want to have an iota of a chance of scoring, aerial boosting skills must be mastered. This is because the goal is elevated this time, like an actual basketball court. Players can use the gigantic backboard to get an easy bucket, or they can go for a half court attempt for that “nothing but net” swish. As for defense, you can wait around the post and go for monstrous shot blocks that’d make Dikembe Mutombo smile. It’s not just the goalposts that have changed, but the arena’s aesthetics, too. It’s literally a basketball court, right down to the floorboards and painted markers. Personally, as a basketball fan, I can’t wait for this. There will certainly be some slam with this jam.
