I am Setsuna gets a new English trailer0 Comments
JRPGs have come a very long way over the years, though not all are happy about that. Many yearn for games more like the classics that we got during the 16 bit era, and the folks at Tokyo RPG Factory hope to oblige. Inspired by games such as the peerless Chrono Trigger, I am Setsuna aims to bring that classic style of JRPG to the modern age, and it's easy to see that from watching this new trailer.
This is the best look we've gotten at the game in English, and it's further cementing my eagerness to get ahold of the title. The gameplay is very clearly inspired by Chrono Trigger, with a battle system that has party members teaming up to put out combined attacks. The story, on the other hand, reminds me more of Final Fantasy X, centering around a girl who is destined to sacrifice herself to save her people.
I'm still really digging the art style, and the music in this trailer is excellent. Luckily we won't have to wait too much longer to get our hands on this, as I am Setsuna will be launching on July 19 for PlayStation 4 and PC.
