I'm time traveling to this June for the PC release of Steins;Gate 00 Comments
If you’re into visual novels or Japanese anime, chances are you have heard of the popular science fiction title Steins;Gate. The original game saw a re-release on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita that sparked a renewed interest in the brand.
As a response, developer 5pb. released an official sequel, Steins;Gate 0, last December in Japan on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita. The game sold more than 100,000 copies in the first day. Since the original game first launched on PC in 2009, it was bizarre that 5pb. overlooked a PC release of the sequel, and many fans of the series in Japan and overseas have been awaiting a PC port.
Thankfully, 5pb. is finally heeding the wishes of longtime fans and fansubbers alike and announced that a PC release for Steins;Gate 0 will be coming on June 24 of this year. They have yet to announce an English release, but considering Steins;Gate saw a western release on PlayStation 3 and Vita last year thanks to PQube, we may be hearing news on localization in the future. A retail copy of the game will cost 7,800¥, or 6,800¥ for a digital download. A limited edition will also be available for 15,000¥, but contents of this edition have not yet been announced.
