LawBreakers alpha sign-ups now available, new trailer released0 Comments
If you're one of the many who lament the passing of old-school, arena-based twitch shooters à la Unreal Tournament, then you'll probably want to be keeping an eye out for LawBreakers. Coming to you from developer Boss Key Productions — the studio founded by Gears of War creator Cliff Bleszinski — LawBreakers features a style of fast-paced, high-octane gameplay that harkens back to the days of Quake and UT. It's a style that hasn't seen a lot of love in recent years, though the upcoming Doom title seems to be attempting a similar direction with its multiplayer aspect as well.
You can get a glimpse of the action in the new gameplay trailer above. It does feature some colorful language, so you may want to mute it if you're at work or near kids, but the game is looking pretty nice so far. The visuals are gorgeous and the action looks suitably hectic. If the trailer has you feeling like this might scratch that UT itch you've been missing, then you'll be happy to hear that alpha sign-ups are now available for the game over on the LawBreakers website.
While LawBreakers was originally intended to be a free-to-play title, those plans have now changed. Bleszinksi explained recently that, as the game took shape, the team realized that free-to-play simply wouldn't suit it. It won't cost a full $60 though, so expect to grab it at a pretty reasonable price when it does launch sometime this year.
