Melty Blood drips onto Steam, 20 percent off til April 270 Comments
If there’s one fighting franchise that doesn’t get enough mainstream attention, it’s Melty Blood. Although it’s known for its zany title names, it’s also a solid fighting game that’s worth your time. PC players can now join in on the action with Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code via Steam. This is part of Arc System Works’ continued effort to expand their fighting games to the PC market. The title itself isn’t exactly new, but fans can purchase it for 20 percent off ($19.99) within its first week (April 20 to April 27) thanks to the promotion.
For the uninitiated, Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code is a fighting game originally developed by French Bread for the PC, based off of Type Moon's Tsukihime franchise. The game has gone through numerous revisions to polish its gameplay, and has a history spanning over six years. It was designed as a four-button fighter. The A, B, and C buttons corresponded to weak, medium, and heavy attacks respectively. The D button functions as shield, which is a parry mechanism. Specifics of the D button vary with the Moon style. These styles are similar to Isms in Street Fighter Alpha 3 or Grooves in Capcom vs. SNK 2. Despite its obscure cast, Melty Blood has rock solid fighting game mechanics, so if you’ve been curious, take the $20 plunge.
