Monopoly gets a Final Fantasy VII makeover0 Comments
The Final Fantasy VII fan who yearns to own every possible thing relating to Square's 1997 hit has one new item to add to their wishlist: the recently-announced Final Fantasy VII version of the popular board game Monopoly.
As with other version of Monopoly, this version will sport tokens, deed cars, houses, hotels, and a game board all based around Final Fantasy VII. Even better, the theme sees bouts of Monopoly play out in the cyberpunk-esque metropolis known as Midgar. Here's the official description as posted on the Merchoid website:
"Delve into the evolving city of Midgar in search of the latest business opportunities. Perhaps you’ll buy up a string of plots for housing development for the people, or go industrial and build a Mako reactor plant.
"Trade with fellow players to secure key location and facilities and watch as savvy buyers secure a big pay day. A roll of a dice and a shrewd business mind will pave your way to success… Just watch out in case Shin-ra bring your empire crashing down!"
Board game enthusiasts keen on this mako-ver of Monopoly can expect to pay $50 dollars for the privilege of ownership. The game is expected to release on April 14 of next year, though that date may be subject to change.
