Mortal Kombat X serves as inspiration for new specialty beers0 Comments
Not to say that they weren't already, but video games and beer seem to be a hot combination these days. Fallout 4 made some waves when an officially-licensed Fallout Beer was announced, and not long afterward gamers noted the release of the Call of Duty-inspired Black Hops Midnight Pale Ale, courtesy of Black Hops Brewing in Australia. Now, Warner Bros., Global Beverage Traders, and Washington-based Sound Brewery are getting together to introduce three new beers based on Mortal Kombat X.
Perhaps not directly aimed at casual beer drinkers (i.e. light lager enthusiasts), each of the Mortal Kombat-themed brews looks to provide a distinct and unique experience based on a particular character. These include the likes of the Sub-Zero Imperial IPA, the Raiden Imperial Saison, and the Scorpion Imperial Stout.
As with the aforementioned video game brews, these latest beers are officially-licensed and will be of limited availability in select markets. Unlike the others, the Mortal Kombat X beers will come in 22-ounce bottles and will be loaded with two times the alcohol content of the Fallout Beer. Though information on release and pricing is slim at the moment, chances are good gamers and beer aficionados can learn more about them via the Sound Brewery Twitter.
