Nintendo and Vans team up to produce licensed shoes and clothing0 Comments
While there was certainly a point in time where Nintendo was wary of licensing out its IP, such is no longer the case. Nintendo CEO Tatsumi Kimishima announced back in February of this year that the company would be pursuing new licensing contracts in order to draw in consumers, and one of the more recent moves toward that effort is a new venture with clothing company Vans.
The new partnership will result in merchandise like the shoes pictured above. Everything from footwear to general apparel will be open to a signature Nintendo style, featuring likenesses from games like The Legend of Zelda, Duck Hunt, Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong, and even hardware itself, most notably the iconic Nintendo Entertainment System.
The new line of Nintendo-based items are set to go on sale this Friday, June 3. And there's good news for game-savvy parents, too, as particular items will be sold in both children's and adult sizes. For more looks at the various merchandise available, check out the gallery over at Polygon.
