Punch-Out!! easter egg discovered that helps you beat the World Circuit0 Comments
After almost 30 years, Reddit user midwesternhousewives has uncovered an exceptionally well-hidden easter egg in the classic NES game Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, no doubt stashed away under the mats. The hidden detail in the background of the game signals the player when to unleash their one-hit punches against two of the game’s strongest opponents.
If you’re skilled enough to make it to the World Circuit, where you have to fight against the most difficult boxers all over again, a nice gentleman in the crowd will actually give you hints to help you towards the Title Bout. It can be easy to miss with everyone trying to snap their shots of Little Mac laying out people over twice his size, but the little bearded man ducks at the exact moment the opportunity opens to execute a one-hit KO on Bald Bull or Piston Honda. It's a pretty swell little hint, and one that will help immensely if you want to land the winning punch in the split-second window.
I can’t count the number of hours over the course of my life that I’ve spent playing Punch-Out!!, which was the second game my dad introduced me to right after The Legend of Zelda. One of the proudest moments in my life was showing him up in a fight against Bald Bull as a six year old, so I can’t wait to pull out the old hardware and teach an old dad new tricks with this easter egg.
