Raiden V shoots westward for Xbox One on May 110 Comments
Western fans of Japanese shmups rejoice: developer Moss announced that they will be self-publishing Raiden V in North America, Europe, and Asia. This is fantastic news, considering that the title was originally a Japanese exclusive for the Xbox One back in February. The fast-paced shooter will now incorporate English text, and plans to launch for the console on May 11. A linguistic makeover isn’t the only change for the localization, as Raiden V will also receive a handful of new features.
For starters, the shooter will have three new main weapons, which should shake things up a bit. It goes without saying that it will be featured in full HD, which is a nice break from the usual pixelated sprites fans have been used to for decades. The new Cheer System allows players to cheer others who are playing at the same time, and if you do so, your points and special attack gauge will increase substantially. Lastly, there are a total of eight stages, with each having three scenes to shoot through.
