Research firm expects Nintendo NX launch this year0 Comments
Firm Technavio Research have just reported some interesting findings in their latest research study. As followers of the gaming industry, they're expecting that new product launches (aka: new gaming systems) will boost sales globally through 2019.
Their report, Global Gaming Peripheral Market 2015-2019, focuses on analyzing market growth in the video game sector with regards to "emerging market trends." Unfortunately for us, grabbing the full 69 page PDF costs $2,500! Fortunately, some of the key aspects of the report are being freely shared by Technavio Research.
Lead research analyst, Soumya Mutsuddi, shared the following quote:
"The market is predicted to grow with the launch of various next-generation consoles. Nintendo is set to launch their next-generation gaming consoles in 2016, which will drive the growth of the market in 2017. Post 2019, Xbox and PS4 are also predicted to launch their next-generation gaming consoles over the next four years."
This is important for folks out there looking for increasing confirmation that the Nintendo NX may launch this year. According to Technavio Research, they're of the belief that it most certainly will be out in 2016. Thus far, what we know for certain is that Nintendo is poised to reveal their next hardware right around E3. If the system will actually hit store shelves by this holiday, though, is still just speculation.
If Technavio Research is correct, then perhaps we should also trust when they share that Microsoft and PlayStation are also set to bring new consoles to market "over the next four years." The only question is whether these will be truly next-generation devices or half steps with a revised PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
