Resident Evil spinoff shooter Umbrella Corps is available now0 Comments
At this year's E3, Capcom revealed a return-to-roots of sorts for its Resident Evil series with a game that focuses more on horror and less on action. This is great news for fans that have been longing for a more traditional slow-paced experience, but not so much for those who enjoyed the frenetic shooting found in the recent Resident Evil titles. Luckily, the latter sort of players should find plenty to enjoy in the multiplayer-focused RE spinoff shooter Umbrella Corps, which released today.
It's worth noting that Umbrella Corps keeps fairly loose ties with the series that spawned it. Fans of Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil 6 should fall into the third-person shooter style easily enough, and they might even recognize some of the iconic locales taken out of the earlier entries to the series. Other than that, though, there's not much that would appeal to fans of the classic survival horror genre.
With that being said, Umbrella Corps does look exciting and rather well-polished, and the cover-based 3v3 gameplay is certainly something that PlayStation 4 owners haven't seen very much of. Steam users can pick it up, too, but interested Xbox One players will unfortunately have to find their third-person shooter fix elsewhere.
