Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII marches westward in July0 Comments
Koei Tecmo is known for their rich library of historical fiction games — most notably the Dynasty Warriors series — but there is another franchise that’s just as awesome, yet doesn’t get as much recognition: Romance of the Three Kingdoms. The publisher must’ve noticed this, because they announced that their latest entry in the franchise, Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII, is heading westward in July 2016. For fans of the series, this is the best news they’ve probably heard in almost a decade, because this is the first localized entry in eight years; the last game was Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI for PlayStation 2 (2007) and PC (2008).
For the uninitiated, the series is heavily based on Luo Guanzhong’s legendary historical novel of the same name. This strategy RPG allowed players to take the role of more than 700 characters from the fall of the Later Han to the reunification of the Jin dynasty. The franchise celebrated its 30th anniversary last year, which also gave birth to its famous spin-off, Dynasty Warriors. Now, if Koei Tecmo could make Dynasty Tactics 3, I'd be a very happy gamer. Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII will march to North America on July 5 and Europe on July 8 for PlayStation 4 and PC.
