Rumor: Suda 51's The Silver Case may be getting remade0 Comments
Most gamers know of Grasshopper Manufacture thanks to their games Killer 7, No More Heroes, and now Let It Die. However, a handful of their products have remained exclusive to Japan over the years. These include the very first game from Grasshopper Manufacture — The Silver Case.
There have been multiple attempts to bring this PlayStation 1 game to other regions. Years ago, Goichi Suda stated that The Silver Case would make its way to Nintendo DS (yes, the original one). These plans never came to fruition as the title was ultimately canceled. However, it now seems very likely that a remake is finally happening.
Last week, Playism Games and Grasshopper Manufacture launched a website called BelieveInTheInternet, which features some sharp white polygons. Each day, more shapes have appeared on the otherwise nondescript page. The first piece of evidence supporting this as an announcement for The Silver Case is that the shapes look incredibly similar to the game's logo. Second is the fact that Goichi Suda himself posted an Instagram image for The Silver Case (written in Caesar cipher) to generate hype for the Playism booth at PAX East.
Finally, the most explicit confirmation is a now-removed post from Niche Gamer which stated Playism officially announced that a remake of The Silver Case is coming to PC internationally during PAX East. Weirdly enough, Playism have not yet shared this news via social media even now that PAX East is over. Here's hoping the reveal happens soon enough so more gamers can be introduced to The Silver Case.
