Senior Capcom fighting game designer moves to SNK Playmore0 Comments
A senior member of Capcom's esteemed fighting game design team has left the company for greener pastures, pastures that apparently exist on SNK Playmore's property. Hidetoshi "Neo G" Ishizawa — whose extensive and impressive fighting game resume includes Street Fighter III: Third Strike, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, and both Capcom vs SNK crossovers — made official on Twitter that he will now be lending his fighting development talents to the resurgent SNK Playmore.
While King of Fighters XIV is deep in development the company has expressed interest in sequels for Garou: Mark of the Wolves and Samurai Shodown, and this new arrival to the team only fuels those rumored fires.
While Neo G doesn't have the same street cred as other fighting game visionaries, do not underestimate the potential of this move. With a mind like Neo G working for SNK Playmore those rumored fighting games could not only become real, they could steal some thunder from Capcom's Street Fighter V juggernaut. Of course, if the parting was on good terms it could also be the catalyst for Capcom vs SNK 3, but I don't want to even think about that, lest I get my hopes up. I'd be perfectly fine with that though. For the record, so you know, maybe think about it. Maybe. Please?
