SNK classic The Last Blade 2 is coming to PS4 and Vita0 Comments
SNK Playmore has many cult classic fighting franchises under its umbrella, and it seems the publisher is keen on getting more than just The King of Fighters out there in the world, as they've announced that The Last Blade 2 will be coming to Sony consoles in late May.
A visit from SNK Playmore business development representative Keisuke Nishikawa to the PlayStation Blog broke the news, announcing a release date of May 24 for both the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita ports of the game. For those unfamiliar with the game, The Last Blade 2 is a 2D fighter much in the vein of SNK's other sword-based fighter Samurai Shodown, with two combatants locked into a one-on-one duel.
According to Nishikawa's post the game will be a "pixel perfect emulation" of the old fighter courtesy of SNK partner developer Code Mystics, adding full local and online multiplayer as well as cross-play and cross-buy functionality in the process.
If this is the start of a wonderful friendship between Sony and SNK Playmore then I'm all for it. The Last Blade 2 is a wonderful little gem ideal for the fighting game hordes out there, and I can only hope it'll open the door for more SNK fighters to hit PS4 and/or Vita. I could really go for some Fatal Fury online multiplayer.
