Sony to end PlayStation MVP program0 Comments
The end is nigh for PlayStation's MVP program, as Sony plans to shut it down on April 18. A letter Sony sent out to members of the program reads, "As of Monday, April 18, PlayStation will no longer actively support the MVP Program. We want to thank you for your participation in the program and your enthusiasm in making PlayStation the best place to play." Sony also noted that, even though the program is going away, its support services will remain intact.
The MVP program was an application-only program in which members would host events, write walk-throughs and guides, and lead discussions and interact with members on the PlayStation Forums. While it sounded good on paper, NeoGAF user and MVP program member said, "Since about January or so, the MVP program has been in a state of confusion. No one really knew what was going on, but we had assumed something would be changing." Although the MVP program is coming to an end, Sony said in the notice that they would be looking ahead to new ways to connect with the PlayStation community.
