Trine developer Frozenbyte releasing stealth action title Shadwen next month0 Comments
Developer Frozenbyte has been working on a new IP that focuses on stealth action in a free-roaming 3D world. It's called Shadwen, and it's a remarkable departure from the usual efforts of the Finnish studio, who are primarily known for the Shadowgrounds shooter games and the side-scrolling physics/puzzler series Trine.
This newest title was first announced back in December, and follows the exploits of the game's namesake assassin through her quest to kill the king. The game blends together a number of elements that gamers will find familiar, including Frozenbyte's signature use of physics and the attachable rope with which objects can be manipulated. Shadwen also features a time-based action mechanic where all time stands still when the hero does, giving players ample time to plan out their strategies, and a rewind feature means that no mistake is necessarily permanent.
Frozenbyte has said that Shadwen is set to launch in May for PlayStation 4 and PC, but no specific date beyond that has yet been given. They have announced, however, that the title will be sporting a discounted launch price somewhere in the ballpark of $14.55, which means chances are good the game will likely otherwise cost around $20.
