Ubisoft files new trademark for Beyond Good & Evil0 Comments
A rumor came around in the beginning of March that seemed to imply that Nintendo might be funding a sequel to Beyond Good & Evil, possingly as an NX exclusive. While Nintendo's involvement isn't confirmed by any means, the game's sequel may be — DualShockers has found a new trademark filed by Ubisoft in the European Union Intellectual Property Office for Beyond Good & Evil. To make matters even more interesting, it's also filed under class distinctions for everything from game software to clothing.
Despite the trademark, there's no official word on what this news means just yet. It may be that Ubisoft is doubling-down on their trademarks to ensure that the franchise stays within the company's grasp. With that being said, gamers ought remember that Beyond Good & Evil 2 was announced almost exactly eight years ago, and despite the title's inevitable delays, series creator Michel Ancel confirmed that the sequel was in the works back in January of this year.
At this rate, it could be eight more years before gamers know exactly what's going on. Still, it's nice knowing that the fan-favorite Beyond Good & Evil franchise isn't being overlooked by the powers that be. Hopefully we'll get a proper update soon.
