Warcraft-licensed beer is being sold in China0 Comments
One of the more popular trends to hit the world of gaming merchandise is that of video game-branded alcoholic beverages. Fallout, Mortal Kombat, and even Call of Duty have served as inspiration for specially-crafted beers, and upon first glance, it would seem that Warcraft (specifically the movie) is going the same route.
While the game/movie branding certainly holds true, this isn't Warcraft beer per se — it's beer in a Warcraft-themed can. Each of the above-pictured boxes features distinct artwork of Durotan, and according to Chinese blog The Beijinger, the cans therein contain the 1903 lager from popular China-based brewery Tsingtao.
As was the case with the Fallout and Call of Duty-themed brews, it's not likely that these beers will make their way to North American shores. If they were, we probably would have heard more about them before now. In any case, hopefully future video game-branded beers will start coming to North American markets soon, because they're a lot more interesting than the likes of carbonated sugar water, additive-packed snacks, and even gamer-focused razors.
