While Naughty Dog is confident that Uncharted 4 is impressive, they say to expect even better from later releases0 Comments
We know that Naughty Dog claims that Uncharted 4: A Thief's End is “the most visually stunning game ever created,” but they have come forward to say that they plan to make even more impressive titles in the future. In a recent interview with DualShockers, Uncharted 4’s lead designer Ricky Cambier said, “There are definitely areas that I can see that we will be able to do better things already, after this.”
Apparently, the current PlayStation 4 hardware has a lot of unutilized power under the hood, and Cambier thinks that the programmers at Naughty Dog will be the ones to unlock this extra potential. “You know, we have some really smart programmers at Naughty Dog, and I’m always pretty surprised of what they can do,” he proudly bragged about his team.
We know that Naughty Dog has been the company to push the envelope and help Sony’s consoles reach their full potential in the past. The first entry in the Uncharted series was lauded for it’s gorgeous graphics, but later releases from the company were the true benchmarks for utilizing the PlayStation 3’s potential.
Cambier was careful not to get hopes too high, concluding “I have a hard time seeing that it will take the same evolutionary jump as you know… the difference between the first Uncharted versus The Last of Us is enormous. But there is no doubt that the next thing we do, we’re gonna get even more out of that PlayStation.”
Naughty Dog has a legacy for creating beautiful games and finding room for improvement, even when their titles receive near-perfect review scores. Uncharted 4 will be Naughty Dog’s first full-fledged PlayStation 4 release, leaving plenty of room for growth over the consoles lifespan.
Uncharted 4 will be released on May 10, exclusively on PlayStation 4.
